Liu Cunhui
Liu Cunhui was born in Beijing in 1955 and is a graduate from the Arts
Department of Beijing Education College. Mr. Liu became interested in
art at a very young age and studied with the master Lou Shibai.
Mr. Liu is know for his mastery of freehand style and in the
representation of flowers, birds and landscapes. He is particularly
known for his efforts to integrate traditional and modern styles
through the use of new techniques. Mr. Liu has gained recognition
throughout China for his effort to promote general art
appreciation in China where his program on the art of brush painting is
routinely aired on the Beijing TV Channel "Golden Hours" program.
In 1994, his teaching was captured in a multi set series of videotapes
titled "The Rudiments of Chinese Ink and Wash", which is
distributed by the Chinese National Video Publishing House. Mr.
Liu is a winner of many prizes and commendations including the Golden
Prizes in the 11th National Arts Exhibition in South Korea in 1993 and
the 1998 Sino-Japan Art Exchange in 1998 in addition to numerous
Chinese competitions. He is now a senior Professor and artist at the
Beijing Education College's Chaoyang Branch.

Meng
Xiangshun was born in 1956 in Tonghua, Jilin Province. Mr.
Meng
graduated from the Chinese Painting Dept. of the Central Academy of
Fine Arts in 1985. Over the next years, he studied with Li Keran,
Yao
Youduo, Li Xingjian and Jia Youfu. He is now Vice President of
the
Beifang Painting Society. Meng Xiangshun’s work was displayed at
the
Sixth National Art Exhibition where his art was given a high
award.
Meng Xiangshun is particularly known for his fine paintings of
Tigers
but is also renown for many other forms such as landscape, etc.

Yao Youdou and Meng Xiangshun
Yao Youduo was
born in 1937 in Zhejiang Province. He graduated from the Chinese
Painting Dept. of the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1959. He is
now a member of the Chinese Artists’ Association, Deputy Director of
the Chinese Painting Art Committee and a Professor at the Central
Academy of Fine Arts.

Zhao Wei
Zhao Wei was born in 1957 in Beijing.
His family are of the Bai minority from Yunnan. Zhao Wei graduated from
the Chinese Department of Beijing Normal University in 1985. In that
same year his painting won an award for the Year of International Youth
Celebration. After that, Zhao Wei has earned many more awards and
recognitions all over China and abroad, most notably the Department of
Culture entitled him "National Artist of the First Class" in 1999..

Luo Suya (Soraya Runckel)
Born in Bangkok, Thailand, the daughter of a noted architect/artist
renown for his works on Thai architecture, Soraya developed her deep
interest in drawing and painting at an early age. She paints in
watercolor, pen&ink and Chinese Brush paintings. Soraya
studied Chinese brush painting for 13 years. She lived and worked
in Beijing, China, from 1996 to 1999. Soraya's works have been
exhibited extensively, in Thailand, England, USA, Vietnam and China.

Jin Hongjun
Mr. Jin Hongjun was born in 1937 and is a native of Beijing. His
family are descendants of the Emperors of the Qing Dynasty. He
studied Chinese painting with many well-known artists such as Li Kuchan
and Li Keran in the Chinese Painting Department, Central Art College of
China. As a professional artist at the Beijing Painting
Institute, Professor Jin particularly specialized in fine
brushwork. His paintings have been collected by the China
National Art Museum and by the Chinese government and many important
organizations. One of them was elected into the 13th Exhibition
of SECO of the U.N. Jin Hongjun also was invited to visit India
and to teach in Japan plus to participate in art exhibitions of his
works in the U.S., Singapore, Korea, Canada, Thailand and other
countries.

Cui Zifan
Mr. Cui Zifan was born in 1915 in Shandong Province. He has
devoted himself to the study of freehand Chinese painting for flowers
and Birds. In his paintings, flowers, birds, and landscapes all
have his strong personal characteristic style of freehand. Mr.
Cui studied with Qi Baishi, the master of Chinese Painting. His
works have been displayed at exhibitions throughout China and his art
collected by the China National Art Museum, the People’s Great Hall of
China and other important Museums. One of his works won the First
prize in the Beijing Art Exhibition. Mr. Cui has published
several albums of his painting. He now is the vice-president of
the Chinese Art Institute and a member of the Chinese Art Association.
