Zhao
Wei was born in 1957 in Beijing. His family are of the Bai minority
from Yunnan. Zhao Wei graduated from the Chinese Department of Beijing
Normal University in 1985. In that same year his painting won an award
for the Year of International Youth Celebration. After that, Zhao Wei
has earned many more awards and recognitions all over China and abroad,
most notably the Department of Culture entitled him "National Artist of the First Class" in 1999. |
